Just Between Us: A No-Stress, No-Rules Journal for Girls and Their Moms - Meredith Jacobs, Sofie Jacobs I picked up this journal after a friend of mine did this with her daughter during her senior year in high school. Now, the baby, as I affectionately call her here on the blog, isn’t a senior yet, but why wait? It has been a little over a week now and I gotta tell you we are both having a great time with it. The other night we split our time before dinner answering questions I hadn’t thought of as information the baby would want to know.

Like what’s my favorite song. I was thinking current song. Nope she wanted to know my all time fav and why. It’s Steve Nicks Landslide btw. Makes me think of my mom and my daughter.

My point about this is, later on in life she will have questions like I wonder how my mom felt when I did this or a reaction to when something happened in her life. I know with my mom being gone now and having a teenager, I wonder all the time how she felt about first dates and drivers licenses. Things I never really understood till now. So this is a way to share it all.

Also her answers to some questions made me realize there were things she wanted to know that I hadn't spoken about. There are rules in the beginning of the journal and in keeping I wont share any more. But do yourself a favor if you have a child heading into adulthood. Make a connection now. You'll be glad you did.

I know this isn’t a typical book review especially for KT Book Reviews but hey, passing on a good thing is always fun.

Oh and I am sure there is a version for sons out there too!
