Hopeless - Colleen Hoover Really if I had a 1.5 option that would be my rating for Hopeless. And I am really sorry to say that due to the fact I actually liked the first 75% of the book. I got this book after seeing all the 5 star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I have to wonder what is the age demographic.

Sky's adventure from homeschooling to real life high school is a great storyline. The relationship between her and her bestie are humorous and loving. When Holder comes into the picture I liked the mystery and teenage angst that was going on. Real, human and very much a self discovery. It was all going along great even with this unraveling abusive back story going on. You had me invested in these people and their relationship.

But when the truth and the "real issues" surfaced..... I hate to say it but..... I call BULL$#*t.
There were just too many unrealistic responses to what should have taken, I feel, more time to handles and come to terms with.

*****SPOILER******

There is NO WAY after finding out what Sky finds out that this is a realistic response. Nope, nuh uh, no way. There is no way a cop would just lay down his guns outside his home and turn his back and walk in without a care. There is no way a young girl would learn and remember a horrible ongoing rape/rapes and then cozy up to him to get more information. Oh and the next day we are all hunky dory after watching a man kill himself???? No. You had me then you jumped the shark.

It is too bad because I truly liked the Hopeless in the beginning and wish the author would have stayed in keeping with character. For more reviews check out our blog http://ktbookreviews.blogspot.com/
